На бал в летнем дворце
Средь фонтанов изящных и пышных садов
Придут сорок принцесс
И одиннадцать фей цветов.
Началась в тот же миг подготовка –
Шум и гам, суматоха, веселье,
И служанки, обутые в щётки,
Полы натирают, смеясь.
Ведь в иное-то время – неловко,
Но сейчас то отнюдь не безделье –
Полотёрам плясать беззаботно,
Чтоб ближе стал праздника час.
На бал в летнем дворце
Средь фонтанов изящных и пышных садов
Идут сорок принцесс
И одиннадцать фей цветов.
Наконец, распахнулись все двери,
Затрещали цветные петарды,
Музыканты, засев на балконе,
Творят волшебство что есть сил.
А король со своей королевой
Вышел в круг, начиная гальярду,
Ну а фею в лилейной короне
Сам принц танцевать пригласил.
Ведь на бал в летнем дворце
Средь фонтанов изящных и пышных садов
Пришли сорок принцесс
И одиннадцать фей цветов.
Право, бал тот запомнят надолго,
И не будет такого другого.
Эта сказка, что сделалась былью,
Смеялась под бледной луной.
А наутро народу герольды
Донесли королевское слово –
Будто фея в короне из лилий
Теперь станет принцу женой.
Был бал в летнем дворце,
И домой от фонтанов и пышных садов
Ушли сорок принцесс –
Но лишь десять из фей цветов.
