И пошла по черному воздуху,

И обернулась птицей, то была Любовь.
А у лесного озера,
Да тут рядом - верст десять к северу,
В высоком тереме, за забором из чистого льда
Жила другая девушка, и звали ее Верою,
И той же ночью лунной она стояла у окна.
И открыв ставни крепкие, да не глядя под ноги,
Только на мгновение стало вдруг светло
И отогрев ладонями обернулась облаком
И растаяла дымка нежная,
только треснуло стекло.
И ночь уже катилась за полночь,
и далеко до заутрени
Они летели вдвоем под звездами на огонек зари
И я тоже не спал, маялся,
и на душе было муторно
И глядя молча на огонь, я жег свои стихи.
И когда мне стало совсем тягостно,
так, что хоть пой, хоть вешайся
Я увидел в небе птицу белую и облако в серебре
И почему-то мне стало радостно,
и почему-то мне стало весело,
И я поверил себе, что сбудется,
и что она вернется ко мне.
И тут стук в дверь, а на пороге соседка Наденька,
да ведь поздно уже и холодно,
Заходи, милая, ведь простудишься,
погрейся у огня.
И я понял, что это главное,
а остальное не так уж и дорого,
Ты грейся Надя, и оно сбудется,
да ты и так здесь всегда жила...
