Люди отыскали много новых звезд,Больше, чем в лесу дремучем птичьих гнезд.
Это и неплохо, только вот беда:
Выпала из виду яркая звезда.
В телескопы смотрят этак, смотрят так
И найти не могут звездочки никак
Той, что осветила некогда Восток.
Многих к Иисусу свет её привлек:
И больших и малых, хоть простые мы,
Все же отличаем свет с небес от тьмы.
Потому сегодня, в праздник Рождества,
Мы поём в собранье гимны торжества.
А ученым звезды молвят в небесах:
"Знать, у древних лучше видели глаза?
Видели свет свыше волхвы и пастухи...
Может быть, мешают зрению грехи?
Может, наблюдений методы не те?
Чтобы о рожденном что-то знать Христе,
О Христе, Который есть и Свет, и Путь,
Надо чрез Писанье в небеса взглянуть! "
