She was the best, and I loved her. The roles were written by an unknown screenwriter and recorded by the director once and for all. No appeal was expected. Actually, I didn't need an appilation. She was the best, and I loved her. Therefore, she could live with her husband, and I had to live with my mother. Therefore, she could bear children, and I had to keep my virginity. Therefore, she could bang her fist on the table or pinch my ass, and I was supposed to shamelessly lower my eyes or to giggle. And you know, you know what? And she lived, and kept, and lowered, and even, horror, giggled, timidly and embarrassedly, as expected.
The theater of the absurd is not out there somewhere. It is here, we have with you. When he is married and you think he will get divorced. Because it's only in the books that they throw mistresses, and you have that, wow, love! When she's cheating, and you think that she's just getting your attention. When she lives with someone else, with another, with others, she does not live at all, but died long ago from an overdose, syphilis, AIDS or acute respiratory infections, and you still think that everything will be fine with you.
The theater of the absurd is a military theater of action here and now. This is when you transport things to a new apartment that your lover rented for you and try to calculate the route to her house. "Why would you go to see her if you have a new lover?" the crowd shouts. The crowd is chanting, hooting and whistling, except that they don't throw their caps into the air. And you count the traffic lights and kilometers, although you know for sure that you will not go this route. Nowhere.
There is no love. Delirium alone. Staged play. And here's another union broke up before your eyes:
- Do you promise, such and such, not to love, not to believe, not to wait and not to seek meetings anymore?
- I promise.
- Do you promise, such and such, not to wait any longer, not to desire, not to look and not to think?
- I promise.
Basta. The curtain. Well no. There will be no curtain. The theater of the absurd will continue every day: in the confusion of names, in the familiar names of metro stations, in the cities and cafes where you have been together. Streets will painfully cut into the temple with the articulations of letters. Soviet, Lenin, Enthusiasts, Samotyochnaya, Setuinskaya finally.
Fuck the dotted lines. Fuck the dots. To hell with the arrogance and gossip. Tell me how is it to love? To love, but not so as to die and all this: "She smoked one by one, thinking, oh, how no one understands her." Not "She lit Indian sticks, poured herself some wine and drank in frustration." To love without cut veins and hysterics! This happens? Well, no, it doesn't happen.
And again roles, roles, roles. And now you are better. And she, he, it, they are meant to love you. And it seems that you are still trying to stay on the platform and not to ruin this most mediocre piece of the provincial screenwriter-drunkard. And you seem to be pulling as usual: "But we live here, and we bought a washing machine, and a refrigerator, and we are saving up for a mortgage, yes ..." And you yourself are already confused in words. You are confused because that was all. And more than once. And it wasn't with you either. I'm all for this. She was the best, and I killed her. Today. That's all love ... But for some reason there is no other way.
