Либретто

1. Совет первосвященников, предательство Иуды.
ХОР: Плач священный, приидите, воспоим Христу. Аллилуйя.
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:1-5): Когда Иисус окончил все слова сии, то сказал ученикам Своим: вы знаете, что через два дня будет Пасха, и Сын Человеческий предан будет на распятие. Тогда собрались первосвященники и книжники и старейшины народа во двор первосвященника, по имени Каиафы, и положили в совете взять Иисуса хитростью и убить; но говорили: только не в праздник, чтобы не сделалось возмущение в народе.
ХОР: Господи, Боже мой! Воспою Тебе надгробную песнь. Аллилуйя.
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:14-16): Тогда один из двенадцати, называемый Иуда Искариот, пошел к первосвященникам и сказал: что вы дадите мне, и я вам предам Его? Они предложили ему тридцать сребренников; и с того времени он искал удобного случая предать Его.
ХОР: Плачет и рыдает Матерь Твоя. Аллилуйя.

2. Тайная вечеря
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:17-19): В первый же день опресночный прступили ученики к Иисусу и сказали Ему: где велишь нам приготовить Тебе пасху? Он сказал: пойдите в город к такому-то и скажите ему: Учитель говорит: время Мое близко; у тебя совершу пасху с учениками Моими. Ученики сделали, как повелел им Иисус, и приготовили пасху. Когда же настал вечер, Он возлег с двенадцатью учениками; и когда они ели, сказал: истинно говорю вам, что один из вас предаст Меня.
ХОР: На вечери Твоей, Христе Боже, глаголал еси Твоим учеником: един от вас предаст Мя. (На вечери Твоей, Христе Боже, Ты сказал Своим ученикам: один из вас предаст Меня.)
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:22-25): Они весьма опечалились, и начали говорить Ему, каждый из них: не я ли, Господи? Он же сказал в ответ: опустивший со Мною руку в блюдо, этот предаст Меня; впрочем Сын Человеческий идет, как писано о Нем, но горе тому человеку, которым Сын Человеческий предается: лучше было бы этому человеку не родиться. При сем и Иуда, предающий Его, сказал: не я ли, Равви? Иисус говорит ему: ты сказал.
ХОР: Скорбяще зело, начаша глаголати Ему един кийждо их: не аз ли, Господи? Иуда же вопроси: не аз ли, Равви? Глагола Иисус: ты рекл еси, Иудо. (Весьма опечалившись, они начали говорить Ему, каждый из них: не я ли, Господи? Иуда же спросил: не я ли, Равви? Иисус отвечал: ты сказал, Иуда.)

3. Иисус на Тайной вечери
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:26-29): И когда они ели, Иисус взял хлеб и, благословив, преломил ... и, раздавая ученикам, сказал: приимите, ядите: сие есть Тело Мое. И, взяв чашу и благодарив, подал им и сказал: пейте из нее все, ибо сие есть Кровь Моя Нового Завета, за многих изливаемая во оставление грехов. Сказываю же вам, что отныне не буду пить от плода сего виноградного до того дня, когда буду пить с вами новое вино в Царстве Отца Моего. И, воспев, пошли на гору Елеонскую.

4. Предсказание об отречении Петра
ХОР: Странствия Владычня и безсмертныя трапезы на горнем месте высокими умы, вернии, приидите насладимся, возшедша Слова, от слова научившеся, Егоже величаем. (Гостеприимства Владыки и бессмертной трапезы на высоком месте, верные, придите, насладимся, возвышенными помыслами познав превысшее Слово от Самого Слова, Которое мы величаем.)
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:31-35): Тогда говорит им Иисус: все вы соблазнитесь о Мне в эту ночь, ибо написано: поражу пастыря, и рассеются овцы стада; по воскресении же Моем предварю вас в Галилее. Петр сказал Ему в ответ: если и все соблазнятся о Тебе, я никогда не соблазнюсь. Иисус сказал ему: истинно говорю тебе, что в эту ночь, прежде нежели пропоет петух, трижды отречешься от Меня. Говорит Ему Петр: хотя бы надлежало мне и умереть с Тобою, не отрекусь от Тебя. Подобное говорили и все ученики.

5. Иисус в Гефсиманском саду
МЕЦЦО-СОПРАНО: Чертог Твой вижду, Спасе мой, украшенный, и одежды не имам, да вниду в онь. (Чертог Твой уготованный вижу, Спаситель мой, но не имею одежды, чтобы войти в него.)
ЕВАНГЕЛИСТ (Мф. 26:36): Потом приходит с ними Иисус на место, называемое Гефсима

CHORUS: Weeping, come, let us sing to Christ. Hallelujah.
EVANGELIST (Matt. 26: 1-5): When Jesus finished all these words, he said to his disciples: you know that in two days there will be Easter, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the crucifix. Then the high priests and scribes and elders of the people gathered in the court of the high priest, by the name of Caiaphas, and put in council to take Jesus by cunning and kill; but they said: only not on a holiday, so that indignation among the people does not become.
CHORUS: God, my God! I will sing the tombstone to you. Hallelujah.
EVANGELIST (Matt. 26: 14-16): Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the high priests and said: what will you give me and I will deliver it to you? They offered him thirty pieces of silver; and from that time he sought an opportunity to betray Him.
CHORUS: Your Mother cries and weeps. Hallelujah.

2. The Last Supper
EVANGELIST (Matt. 26: 17-19): On the very first day, the unleavened bread was brought by the disciples to Jesus and said to him: Where do you command us to prepare your Passover? He said: go to the city to such and such and say to him: Teacher says: My time is near; I will have Easter with my disciples. The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and prepared the Passover. When evening came, he lay down with the twelve disciples; and when they ate, he said: Verily I say unto you, one of you shall betray Me.
CHORUS: At Your supper, Christ God, said Thou Your disciple: One will betray Me from you. (At Your supper, Christ God, You said to Your disciples: one of you will betray Me.)
EVANGELIST (Matt. 26: 22-25): They were very saddened, and began to tell Him, each of them: is it me, Lord? But he answered and said, He that dipped his hand in the dish with me, this one will betray me; by the way, the Son of Man comes, as it is written about Him, but woe to the man to whom the Son of Man indulges: it would be better for this person not to be born. And Judah, the one who betrayed him, said: Am I not Rabbi? Jesus says to him: you said.
CHORUS: Sorrowfully mourned, the beginner of the verb to Him is the only one of them: is not it, Lord? Judas, then, ask: Is it not Rabbi? Verb Jesus: Thou art thou, Judah. 3. Jesus at the Last Supper

And taking the cup and thanking, he gave it to them and said: drink everything from it, for this is My Blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. I tell you that from now on I will not drink from this grape fruit until the day when I will drink new wine with you in the Kingdom of My Father. And, chanting, they went to the Mount of Olives.

4. Prediction of the abdication of Peter

Peter answered him: if everyone is tempted about you, I will never be tempted. Jesus said to him: Verily I say unto you, that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me thrice. Peter tells him: at least it was proper for me to die with you, I will not deny you. All students said the same thing.

5. Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
METZZO-SOPRANO: Your hall, I see, adorned with my clothes, and not the imam, but down into it. (I see your prepared chamber, my Savior, but I have no clothes to enter into it.)
EVANGELIST (Matt. 26:36): Then Jesus comes with them to a place called Gethsima
