1 Учение Асафа. Внимай, народ мой, закону моему, приклоните ухо ваше к словам уст моих.2 Открою уста мои в притче и произнесу гадания из древности.
3 Что слышали мы и узнали, и отцы наши рассказали нам,
4 не скроем от детей их, возвещая роду грядущему славу Господа, и силу Его, и чудеса Его, которые Он сотворил.
5 Он постановил устав в Иакове и положил закон в Израиле, который заповедал отцам нашим возвещать детям их,
6 чтобы знал грядущий род, дети, которые родятся, и чтобы они в свое время возвещали своим детям, -
7 возлагать надежду свою на Бога и не забывать дел Божиих, и хранить заповеди Его,
8 и не быть подобными отцам их, роду упорному и мятежному, неустроенному сердцем и неверному Богу духом своим.
9 Сыны Ефремовы, вооруженные, стреляющие из луков, обратились назад в день брани:
10 они не сохранили завета Божия и отреклись ходить в законе Его;
11 забыли дела Его и чудеса, которые Он явил им.
12 Он пред глазами отцов их сотворил чудеса в земле Египетской, на поле Цоан:
13 разделил море, и провел их чрез него, и поставил воды стеною;
14 и днем вел их облаком, а во всю ночь светом огня;
15 рассек камень в пустыне и напоил их, как из великой бездны;
16 из скалы извел потоки, и воды потекли, как реки.
17 Но они продолжали грешить пред Ним и раздражать Всевышнего в пустыне:
18 искушали Бога в сердце своем, требуя пищи по душе своей,
19 и говорили против Бога и сказали: "может ли Бог приготовить трапезу в пустыне?"
20 Вот, Он ударил в камень, и потекли воды, и полились ручьи. "Может ли Он дать и хлеб, может ли приготовлять мясо народу Своему?"
21 Господь услышал и воспламенился гневом, и огонь возгорелся на Иакова, и гнев подвигнулся на Израиля
22 за то, что не веровали в Бога и не уповали на спасение Его.
23 Он повелел облакам свыше и отверз двери неба,
24 и одождил на них манну в пищу, и хлеб небесный дал им.
25 Хлеб ангельский ел человек; послал Он им пищу до сытости.
26 Он возбудил на небе восточный ветер и навел южный силою Своею
27 и, как пыль, одождил на них мясо и, как песок морской, птиц пернатых:
28 поверг их среди стана их, около жилищ их, -
29 и они ели и пресытились; и желаемое ими дал им.
30 Но еще не прошла прихоть их, еще пища была в устах их,
31 гнев Божий пришел на них, убил тучных их и юношей Израилевых низложил.
32 При всем этом они продолжали грешить и не верили чудесам Его.
33 И погубил дни их в суете и лета их в смятении.
34 Когда Он убивал их, они искали Его и обращались, и с раннего утра прибегали к Богу,
35 и вспоминали, что Бог - их прибежище, и Бог Всевышний - Избавитель их,
36 и льстили Ему устами своими и языком своим лгали пред Ним;
37 сердце же их было неправо пред Ним, и они не были верны завету Его.
38 Но Он, Милостивый, прощал грех и не истреблял их, многократно отвращал гнев Свой и не возбуждал всей ярости Своей:
39 Он помнил, что они плоть, дыхание, которое уходит и не возвращается.
40 Сколько раз они раздражали Его в пустыне и прогневляли Его в [стране] необитаемой!
41 и снова искушали Бога и оскорбляли Святаго Израилева,
42 не помнили руки Его, дня, когда Он избавил их от угнетения,
43 когда сотворил в Египте знамения Свои и чудеса Свои на поле Цоан;
44 и превратил реки их и потоки их в кровь, чтобы они не могли пить;
45 послал на них насекомых, чтобы жалили их, и жаб, чтобы губили их;
46 земные произрастения их отдал гусенице и труд их - саранче;
47 виноград их побил градом и сикоморы их - льдом;
48 скот их предал граду и стада их - молниям;
49 послал на них пламень гнева Своего, и негодование, и ярость и бедствие, посольство злых ангелов;
50 уравнял стезю гневу Своему, не охранял души их от смерти, и скот их предал моровой язве;
51 поразил всякого первенца в Египте, начатки сил в шатрах Хамовых;
52 и повел народ Свой, как овец, и вел их, как стадо, пустынею;
53 вел их безопасно, и они не страшились, а врагов их покрыло море;
54 и привел их в область святую Свою, на гору сию, которую стяжала десница Его;
55 прогнал от лица их народы и землю их разделил в наследие им, и колена Израилевы поселил в шатрах их.
56 Но они еще искушали и огорчали Бога Всевышнего, и уставов Его не сохраняли;
57 отступали и изменяли, как отцы их, обращались назад, как неверный лук;
58 огорчали Его высотами своими и истуканами своими возбуждали ревность Его.
59 Услышал Бог и воспламенился гневом и сильно вознегодовал на Израиля;
60 отринул жилище в Силоме, скинию, в которой обитал Он между человеками;
61 и отдал в плен крепость Свою и славу Свою в руки врага,
62 и предал мечу народ Свой и прогневался на наследие Свое.
63 Юношей его поедал огонь, и девицам его не пели брачных песен;
64 священники его падали от меча, и вдовы его не плакали.
65 Но, как бы от сна, воспрянул Господь, как бы исполин, побежденный вином,
66 и поразил врагов его в тыл, вечному сраму предал их;
67 и отверг шатер Иосифов и колена Ефремова не избрал,
68 а избрал колено Иудино, гору Сион, которую возлюбил.
69 И устроил, как небо, святилище Свое и, как землю, утвердил его навек,
70 и избрал Давида, раба Своего, и взял его от дворов овчих
71 и от доящих привел его пасти народ Свой, Иакова, и наследие Свое, Израиля.
72 И он пас их в чистоте сердца сво?6?

1 Teachings of Asaph. Listen, my people, to my law; incline your ear to the words of my mouth.2 I will open my mouth in a parable and utter fortune-telling from ancient times.
3 What we have heard and learned, and our fathers have told us,
4 We will not hide from their children, declaring to the coming generation the glory of the Lord, and his power, and his wonders that he has done.
5 He decreed a statute in Jacob and laid down a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to proclaim to their children,
6 so that the coming generation may know, the children who will be born, and that in due time they will proclaim to their children -
7 to put their hope in God and not forget the works of God, and keep his commandments,
8 and not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, unsettled in heart and unfaithful to God in spirit.
9 The sons of Ephraim, armed and archers, turned back on the day of the battle:
10 they have not kept the covenant of God, and have denied walking in his law;
11 They have forgotten His works and the miracles that He showed them.
12 He worked wonders in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan:
13 He parted the sea, and led them through it, and made the waters a wall;
14 And led them by day with a cloud, and all night with the light of fire;
15 He cut the stone in the wilderness and gave them drink as from a great deep;
16 He brought up streams out of the rock, and the waters flowed like rivers.
17 But they continued to sin against Him and provoke the Most High in the wilderness:
18 They tempted God in their hearts, demanding food to their liking,
19 and spoke against God and said, "Can God prepare a meal in the wilderness?"
20 Behold, He struck a stone, and waters gushed out, and streams gushed out. "Can He give also bread, can He prepare meat for His people?"
21 The Lord heard and was kindled with anger, and fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger moved against Israel.
22 because they did not believe in God and did not trust in His salvation.
23 He commanded the clouds from above and opened the doors of heaven,
24 And he rained manna on them for food, and he gave them the bread of heaven.
25 The man ate the angelic bread; He sent them food until they were full.
26 He stirred up an east wind in heaven, and brought a south wind with his power
27 And he rained flesh on them like dust, and feathery birds like the sand of the sea.
28 He brought them down in the midst of their camp, near their dwellings;
29 and they ate and were filled; and gave them what they wanted.
30 But their whim had not yet passed away, yet food was in their mouth,
31 The wrath of God came upon them, killed their fat ones, and brought down the young men of Israel.
32 With all this, they continued to sin and did not believe His miracles.
33 And he destroyed their days in vanity, and their years in confusion.
34 When He killed them, they sought Him and turned, and from early morning they resorted to God,
35 and remembered that God is their refuge, and God the Most High is their Deliverer,
36 And they flattered him with their lips, and with their tongues they lied before him;
37 But their heart was not right with Him, and they were not faithful to His covenant.
38 But He, the Most Merciful, forgave sin and did not consume them, repeatedly turned away His anger and did not stir up all His fury:
39 He remembered that they are flesh, a breath that leaves and does not return.
40 How many times have they irritated Him in the wilderness and angered Him in [land] uninhabited!
41 and again tempted God and insulted the Holy One of Israel,
42 They did not remember his hand, the day when he delivered them from oppression,
43 when he performed his signs in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan;
44 And he turned their rivers and their streams into blood, so that they could not drink;
45 He sent insects on them to sting them, and frogs to destroy them;
46 he gave their earthly growths to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locusts;
47 He struck their grapes with hail, and their sycamores with ice.
48 their cattle gave to hail and their flocks to lightning;
49 sent upon them the flame of his anger, and indignation, and fury and calamity, the embassy of evil angels;
50 he made the path equal to his anger, he did not guard their souls from death, and their cattle gave up the plague;
51 He smote every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of strength in the tents of Ham;
52 And he led his people like sheep, and led them like a flock in the wilderness;
53 led them safely, and they were not afraid, but the sea covered their enemies;
54 And he brought them into his holy province, to this mountain, which his right hand had acquired;
55 He drove out the peoples from before them, and divided their land for an inheritance to them, and the tribes of Israel he placed in their tents.
56 But they still tempted and grieved God the Most High, and did not keep His ordinances;
57 retreated and changed like their fathers, turned back like an unfaithful bow;
58 They grieved him with their heights, and with their images they aroused his zeal.
59 God heard and was kindled with anger and was greatly indignant at Israel;
60 He rejected the dwelling place in Shiloh, the tabernacle in which he dwelt among men;
61 And he delivered his strength into captivity and his glory into the hand of the enemy,
62 And he gave his people to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.
63 Fire consumed his young men, and marriage songs were not sung to his girls;
64 his priests fell by the sword, and his widows wept not.
65 But, as if from a dream, the Lord arose, like a giant conquered by wine,
66 and struck his enemies in the rear, delivered them to eternal shame;
67 And he rejected the tent of Joseph and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68 and chose the tribe of Judah, mount Zion, which he loved.
69 And he made his sanctuary like heaven, and he established it like earth forever,
70 and chose David his servant, and took him out of the sheepfolds
71 And from those who were milking he brought him to feed his people, Jacob, and his inheritance, Israel.
72 And he shepherded them in the purity of his heart? 6?
