"Сожжем ее", - промолвил старец.
Семнадцать лет - пора любви,
Одежды золотом сверкают
И вот к костру она идет,
И люди взоры опускают
Вот на костер она взошла,
Одежду рядом положила,
И люди поняли тогда:
"О как она была красива!"
И загорелись факелом
И хворост вспыхнул словно порох
Но крика не было с костра
Остался только пепла ворох
И грянул гром и дождь пошел,
Обычай старый подтвердился,
А вождь печальный домой пошел,
Он с дочерью своей простился...
