Солнца лучик разогнал пеленуЗлых туманов и лихих буйных дней,
На широком, на Дону,
Где собравшись на войну,
Казаки своих купали коней.
Ой, цветут на берегу васильки,
Вольный ветер пыль метёт помелом,

Уж собралися полки
С Русским флагом и двуглавым орлом!
Ой, трёхцветный развивается стяг,
И не страшен им червоный туман,
Чёрны бурочки хрустят,
Востры сабельки блестят,
С ними Мамантов лихой атаман.
"Чтобы Тихий Дон в огне не сгорал...",
Начинает атаман свою речь,
Чтоб не дули те ветра,
Чтоб стояли хутора,
Мы поедем красны головы сечь!
Шесть веков назад рубили татар,
И как в древности на битву встаём,
Всех подряд хоть млад, хоть стар
Хочет сжечь войны пожар,
но мы шашками бандитов побьём!

Черти кровью смяли Белых полки,
Что бежали, всё кляня,
К морю на лихих конях,
Но не зря погибли те казаки.
Они знали, что не вечен злой стон,
Сгинет красный гнёт и лихо тех дней,
Ведь не высох синий Дон,
И остался тот затон,
Где казАки искупали коней!
