За шесть дней до Пасхи пришел Иисус в Вифанию, где был Лазарь умерший, которого Он воскресил из мертвых.Там приготовили Ему вечерю, и Марфа служила, и Лазарь был одним из возлежавших с Ним.
Мария же, взяв фунт нардового чистого драгоценного мира, помазала ноги Иисуса и отерла волосами своими ноги Его; и дом наполнился благоуханием от мира.
Тогда один из учеников Его, Иуда Симонов Искариот, который хотел предать Его, сказал:
Для чего бы не продать это миро за триста динариев и не раздать нищим?
Сказал же он это не потому, чтобы заботился о нищих, но потому что был вор. Он имел при себе денежный ящик и носил, что туда опускали.
Иисус же сказал: оставьте ее; она сберегла это на день погребения Моего.
Ибо нищих всегда имеете с собою, а Меня не всегда.
Многие из Иудеев узнали, что Он там, и пришли не только для Иисуса, но чтобы видеть и Лазаря, которого Он воскресил из мертвых.
Первосвященники же положили убить и Лазаря,
потому что ради него многие из Иудеев приходили и веровали в Иисуса.
На другой день множество народа, пришедшего на праздник, услышав, что Иисус идет в Иерусалим,
взяли пальмовые ветви, вышли навстречу Ему и восклицали: осанна! благословен грядущий во имя Господне, Царь Израилев!
Иисус же, найдя молодого осла, сел на него, как написано:
Не бойся, дщерь Сионова! се, Царь твой грядет, сидя на молодом осле.
Ученики Его сперва не поняли этого; но когда прославился Иисус, тогда вспомнили, что так было о Нем написано, и это сделали Ему.
Народ, бывший с Ним прежде, свидетельствовал, что Он вызвал из гроба Лазаря и воскресил его из мертвых.
Потому и встретил Его народ, ибо слышал, что Он сотворил это чудо.
Фарисеи же говорили между собою: видите ли, что не успеваете ничего? весь мир идет за Ним.
Из пришедших на поклонение в праздник были некоторые Еллины.
Они подошли к Филиппу, который был из Вифсаиды Галилейской, и просили его, говоря: господин! нам хочется видеть Иисуса.
Филипп идет и говорит о том Андрею; и потом Андрей и Филипп сказывают о том Иисусу.
Иисус же сказал им в ответ: пришел час прославиться Сыну Человеческому.
Истинно, истинно говорю вам: если пшеничное зерно, пав в землю, не умрет, то останется одно; а если умрет, то принесет много плода.
Любящий душу свою погубит ее; а ненавидящий душу свою в мире сем сохранит ее в жизнь вечную.
Кто Мне служит, Мне да последует; и где Я, там и слуга Мой будет. И кто Мне служит, того почтит Отец Мой.
Душа Моя теперь возмутилась; и что Мне сказать? Отче! избавь Меня от часа сего! Но на сей час Я и пришел.
Отче! прославь имя Твое. Тогда пришел с неба глас: и прославил и еще прославлю.
Народ, стоявший и слышавший то, говорил: это гром; а другие говорили: Ангел говорил Ему.
Иисус на это сказал: не для Меня был глас сей, но для народа.
Ныне суд миру сему; ныне князь мира сего изгнан будет вон.
И когда Я вознесен буду от земли, всех привлеку к Себе.
Сие говорил Он, давая разуметь, какою смертью Он умрет.
Народ отвечал Ему: мы слышали из закона, что Христос пребывает вовек; как же Ты говоришь, что должно вознесену быть Сыну Человеческому? кто Этот Сын Человеческий?
Тогда Иисус сказал им: еще на малое время свет есть с вами; ходите, пока есть свет, чтобы не объяла вас тьма: а ходящий во тьме не знает, куда идет.
Доколе свет с вами, веруйте в свет, да будете сынами света. Сказав это, Иисус отошел и скрылся от них.
Столько чудес сотворил Он пред ними, и они не веровали в Него,
да сбудется слово Исаии пророка: Господи! кто поверил слышанному от нас? и кому открылась мышца Господня?
Потому не могли они веровать, что, как еще сказал Исаия,
народ сей ослепил глаза свои и окаменил сердце свое, да не видят глазами, и не уразумеют сердцем, и не обратятся, чтобы Я исцелил их.
Сие сказал Исаия, когда видел славу Его и говорил о Нем.
Впрочем и из начальников многие уверовали в Него; но ради фарисеев не исповедывали, чтобы не быть отлученными от синагоги,
ибо возлюбили больше славу человеческую, нежели славу Божию.

Six days before Easter, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was dead, whom He raised from the dead.There they made Him a supper, and Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with Him.
Mary, taking a pound of pure precious nard ointment, anointed Jesus' feet and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the world.
Then one of His disciples, Judas Simon Iscariot, who wanted to betray Him, said:
Why not sell this myrrh for three hundred denarii and give it to the poor?
He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. He had a cash drawer with him and carried what was lowered there.
Jesus said: Leave her; she saved it for the day of my burial.
For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.
Many of the Jews knew that He was there, and they came not only for Jesus, but to see also Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.
And the chief priests decided to kill Lazarus also,
because for his sake many of the Jews came and believed in Jesus.
On the next day, a multitude of people who came to the feast, having heard that Jesus was going to Jerusalem,
took palm branches, went out to meet Him and exclaimed: Hosanna! blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, King of Israel!
But Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it, as it is written:
Fear not, daughter of Zion! behold, thy King is coming, sitting on a young donkey.
His disciples did not understand this at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that this was written about Him, and they did it to Him.
The people who were with Him before testified that He summoned Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead.
That is why the people met Him, for they heard that He had performed this miracle.
But the Pharisees said among themselves: Do you see that you have no time for anything? the whole world follows Him.
Of those who came to worship on the feast, there were some Greeks.
They approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying: Master! we want to see Jesus.
Philip goes and talks about this to Andrey; and then Andrew and Philip tell Jesus about it.
Jesus answered and said to them: The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
He who loves his soul will destroy it; but he who hates his soul in this world will keep it for everlasting life.
Whoever serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there also will my servant be. And whoever serves Me, My Father will honor him.
My soul is now troubled; and what should I say? Father! deliver Me from this hour! But for this hour I have come.
Father! glorify your name. Then a voice came from heaven: I have both glorified and will glorify again.
The people, who stood and heard that, said: it is thunder; and others said, An angel spoke to him.
Jesus said to this: This voice was not for me, but for the people.
Now is the judgment of this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.
And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to Me.
He spoke these things, making it clear what kind of death He would die.
The people answered him: we have heard from the law that Christ abides forever; how do you say that the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
Then Jesus said to them: for a little while the light is with you; walk while there is light, so that darkness does not overtake you: but he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
As long as the light is with you, believe in the light, that you may be sons of light. Having said this, Jesus departed and hid himself from them.
He did so many miracles before them, and they did not believe in Him,
that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled: Lord! who believed what we heard? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Therefore, they could not believe that, as Isaiah also said,
This people has blinded their eyes and have petrified their hearts, so that they do not see with their eyes, and they do not understand in their hearts, and do not turn, so that I heal them.
Isaiah said this when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.
However, many of the rulers also believed in Him; but for the sake of the Pharisees they did not confess, so as not to be excommunicated from the synagogue,
for they loved the glory of men rather than the glory of God.
