Но веры истинной не знал;
Второй для тех, кто жизнь свою
В наслаждениях потерял;
Третий для чревоугодий,
Что в дожде гниют в мученьях,
И четвёртый принял тех,
Кто подвластен расточенью.
В недрах пятого стон гневных,
В болотах Стигии тонущих;
Глас еретиков шестого,
Силу Бога проклянувших;
Насилья яд земля впитала
Проклятого седьмого круга,
И завеса мглы разверзлась,
Неся в наказанье злую вьюгу.
К толпе познавших горечь тьмы,
Летит чрез адские круги
Теней бесчисленная стая,
Вопль леденящий испуская.
Всё глубже вниз к исчадьям зла
Несут прислужники Козла
