Даже Американский Билборд Топ100, не смог устоять от любовных объятий Британской рок группы Cutting Crew. И если с такой горячей вещицей коллективу удаётся дебютировать на первых местах зарубежных чартов, то попробуйте вообразить, на что способен их потенциал и что мы услышим в будущем?
Для начала давайте познакомимся с музыкантами поближе:
Вокалист Ник Ван Иэд основал группу с канадским гитаристом Кевином Скотом МакМайклом в 1985 году. Они сделали 2 демки, для подписания контракта. Позже, к ним присоединился бас-гитарист Колин Фарли и барабанщик Мартин Бидл (в 1986 году).
Первый альбом Broadcast был выпущен в 1986 году, благодаря продюсеру Ричарду Брэнсону из звукозаписывающей студии Virgin Records. Никому ранее не известная группа попала в хит-парады США, Канады и Норвегии — сразу на верхние позиции — со своей дебютной песней «(I Just) Died in Your Arms». Это было удачным началом.
Второй альбом The Scattering вышел в начале 1989 года и тоже был успешным. Композиция «(Between a) Rock and a Hard Place» засветилась в чартах, но уже далеко от первой десятки (CA 54, UK 66, US 77). Увы, Cutting Crew это группа одной песни, но зато какой. Уже в 1989 году, на песню №1 делает кавер версию. И никто нибудь, а довольно популярный в те времена итальянский певец Робе́рто Дзане́тти, известный под псевдонимом Savage.
К 2015 году в мире насчитывалось по меньшей мере 20-ти кавер версий на I Just Died In Youк Arms tonight. Кроме того, ещё в 20тке песен можно услышать семпл этого хита.
Как видим Cutting Crew не смотря на своё возвращение, будет ассоциироваться у нас только с одной песней. Я не думаю, что это плохо. Потому что, где бы не зазвучала эта песня, мы всегда узнаём её из миллиона других.
