"The Industrialist" (рус. Промышленник) - девятый полноформатный альбом Fear Factory и второй полностью концептуальный после Obsolete. Работа над пластинкой началась четвёртого августа 2011 года, когда Дино Казарес с Джоном Санки из Devolved записал первые демки. Бёртон и Дино решили воссоздать старый "добрый" звук Fear Factory и сделали всё сами с помощью давнего приятеля Риса Фулбера. Ударные были спрограммированы на компьютере, а бас партии исполнил Дино. Байрон и Джин покинули Fear Factory и не принимали участие в записи пластинки.Главной идеей при производстве "The Industrialist" было возвращение индастриальных ноток в звучание, ведь именно смесь дет-метала и индастриала когда-то вознесла Fear Factory на вершины музыкальной иерархии. Бёртон признался, что индастриальный элемент был всегда его любимым в саунде группы.
Вокалист Бёртон Белл написал историю для альбома, точно так же как для пластинки Obsolete. Это снова тема противостояния человека и машины, однако на сей раз мы смотрим на события со стороны машин. Это антиутопия, а действие разворачивается в будущем. The Industrialist (далее Промышленник) - автоматон, который стал разумным (синтетиком). Он обнаруживает в себе волю к выживанию и начинает обучать других автоматонов, так же становящихся разумными, сражаться с людьми - не со случайными прохожими на улице, а с теми, кто их создаёт, кто является звеном производственной цепочки и хочет их уничтожить. Когда автоматона создают, он представляет из себя вершину инженерной мысли - топовая модель, но очевидно, что технологии с каждым днём шагают вперёд, поэтому как только на рынке появляется усовершенствованная модель, старую уничтожают. Вот поэтому Промышленник собирает себе подобных и объясняет, что нужно сражаться против таких людей и ставит главную цель - найти создателя.

"The Industrialist" is the ninth full-length album by Fear Factory and the second fully conceptual album after Obsolete. Work on the record began on August 4, 2011, when Dino Cazares with John Sankey of Devolved recorded the first demos. Burton and Dino decided to recreate the good old Fear Factory sound and did it themselves with the help of longtime buddy Rhys Fulber. The drums were computer programmed and the bass was played by Dino. Byron and Jean left Fear Factory and did not participate in the recording of the record.The main idea in the production of "The Industrialist" was the return of industrial notes to the sound, because it was the mixture of death metal and industrial that once lifted Fear Factory to the top of the musical hierarchy. Burton admitted that the industrial element has always been his favorite in the band's sound.
Vocalist Burton Bell wrote the story for the album, just like for the Obsolete LP. This is again the topic of the confrontation between man and machine, but this time we look at events from the side of machines. This is a dystopia, and the action takes place in the future. The Industrialist (hereinafter referred to as the Industrialist) is an automaton who has become intelligent (synthetic). He discovers in himself the will to survive and begins to train other automatons, also becoming intelligent, to fight people - not with random passers-by on the street, but with those who create them, who are a link in the production chain and want to destroy them. When an automaton is created, it represents the pinnacle of engineering - a top model, but it is obvious that technology is advancing every day, so as soon as an improved model appears on the market, the old one is destroyed. That is why the Industrialist gathers his own kind and explains that it is necessary to fight against such people and sets the main goal - to find a creator.
