Nick contacted John Wood in October 1971 to begin work on what would be his last record. In the studio, he came around midnight, holding a guitar in his hand. The recording of the album took two nights at the end of October 1971 and in total - only four hours. The studio was attended only by Drake and Wood. During these nocturnal sessions, Nick was in deep depression, for all the time he only told Vood a few words, and when he asked him what it was, Nick mumbled something unintelligible and left.In the magazine Zigzag critic Connor McNight wrote:

I personally am fascinated by this deep, mysterious, sad, charming album - when you listen, you just drown in music. the album lasts 28 minutes, but no more. he is considered one of the best musical albums in history, being in the first hundred.
