Северные Буддисты и Китайцы находят в глубоком гуле великих рек основную ноту природы. Как в физической науке, так и в оккультизме признается фактом, что совокупный звук природы, который слышится в гуле больших рек, в шуме качаемых ветром древесных вершин большого леса, также и в гуле большого города, доносящегося из отдаления,— имеет определенную основную ноту. На это указывалось и физиками, и музыкантами. Northern Buddhists and Chinese people find the basic note of nature in the deep hum of great rivers. Both in physical science and in occultism it is recognized as a fact that the cumulative sound of nature, which is heard in the roar of large rivers, in the noise of the tree tops of a large forest swaying by the wind, also in the roar of a big city, coming from a distance, has a definite basic note. This was pointed out by both physicists and musicians. Thus, Professor Rice (Chinese Music) points out that the Chinese knew this fact for millennia before our time; they argued that the noise of the Hoan-he River gives the note kung, called the “great note” in Chinese music. Prof. Rice argues that this note corresponds to the note fa, "in which modern physicists see the basic tone of nature." Prof. Silliman also mentions this in his book Principles of Physics and deduces that “this note corresponds to the middle fa of the piano and can be regarded as the basic note of nature”.
