StigmataStigmata берет свое начало в 2003 году в городе Санкт-Петербурге - северной столице и родине лучших рок групп современной российской сцены. Совместную музыкальную деятельность парни начали двумя годами ранее. В начале 2002 года Дэн и Тарас играли в банде без названия. Чуть позже Дэн находит слово Stigmata. Название сразу прижилось и не менялось ни разу, позже каждый из участников вложил в смысл этого слова что то своё. Stigmata на тот момент играла довольно таки странную смесь из музыки похожей на Sepultura, Machine Head, Pantera, Soulfly. Парни не боялись экспериментировать и пытались найти себя через разную музыку. Сочиняя на каждой репетиции по новой песне и разбирая как можно больше всевозможных кавер версий, они осваивали инструменты, учились играть. На рубеже 2003-2004 годов чуваки стали выступать. Впервые это произошло в местечке под названием "Полигон", в котором начинало большинство групп Санкт-Петербурга. Параллельно с этим по соседству Nel'son пел в Nu-metal банде "Геном". По чистой случайности знакомство Stigmata c Нелом совпало с уходом 1го вокалиста группы, Артура. После чего Nel'son принимает предложение петь в Stigmata. Немного позже, вслед за Артуром, группу покидает гитарист Игорь. В таком составе (Дэн - бас, Тарас - гитара, Ник - барабаны, Нел - вокал), чуваки развернули настоящую DIY активность: зарабатывая бабло на низко-оплачиваемых работах с раннего утра до шести часов вечера, все остальное время они работали над собственным видео, веб-сайтом, печатали флаеры и прочий стафф, раздавая все это на различных шоу, проходивших в Питере, играли на разогреве у более-менее известных групп, имевших "несчастье" заехать в те места, участвовали в идиотских конкурсах, пару раз пытались пробиться на местное радио и даже замутили несколько больших сольных выступлений. Такая работа не могла пройти не замечено. В 2004 году альтернативный лэйбл КАП-КАН предлагает заключить контракт о выходе первой пластинки. Осенью в свет выходит первый альбом Stigmata под названием "Конвеер снов". За первые 6 месяцев после выхода дебютного альбома группа дает 15 концертов в различных городах, в том числе выступает на фестивале ISTHMUS совместно с группой НАИВ. Появляются первые поклонники, впервые удаётся собрать полный клуб на сольном выступлении. Продолжая усиленно репетировать, Stigmata довольно быстро собирает новый материал. В июле группа приступает к записи своего второго альбома, который обещает стать главным релизом 2005 года. Осенью на КАП-КАНе выходит следующая пластинка группы "Больше чем любовь", которая становится следующим шагом. Этот релиз показывает группу с совершенно другой, более мелодичной стороны. Январь 2006 года был ознаменован первым DVD группы под названием "Pieces of life", включающим в себя 17 концертных песен, интервью со всеми участниками группы, различные "закулисные" съемки. В Феврале 2006 года происходит смена состава. Из-за творческих разногласий группу покидает Ник, его место у барабанов занимает Phil, известный по работе со многими брутальными командами Питера. В это же время к группе присоединился еще один участник - чувак по имени Duke, одна из самых уникальных личностей Stigmata. Пройдя прослушивание, он быстро влился в коллектив и стал сочинять много нового материала, что было несомненным плюсом. Декабрь 2006г становится переломным в карьере музыкантов. Stigmata записывает сингл "Лёд", который положил начало новой истории. Сингл сразу же занимает лидирующие позиции во всех альтернативных хит-парадах. Клип на эту композицию становится одним из самых популярных, выигрывает в ежегодной премии "St. Petersburg Alternative Music Awards 2007" в номинации "песня года". Армия поклонников начинает расти, охватывая не только Россию, но и страны ближнего и дальнего зарубежья. Это не могло не послужить поводом для первого огромного турне.
