Из страны ледников и гейзеров я всегда в первую очередь слушал Sólstafir. Оно и понятно - из любого небольшого государства сразу выделяются таланты. Сложно пропустить мимо ушей группу, которая является оправданным предметом для гордости тамошней метал-сцены. Я поклонник этой группы и все их релизы стоят больших комплиментов. Но пока я решил рецензировать третий студийный альбом исландцев."Köld" - холод. Название этого творения несет в себе неоднозначный смысл. Sólstafir всегда удавалось сочетать в своей музыке дух скандинавских красот и философию, что отображает человеческие размышления о любви, смерти и одиночестве. Музыка словно эхо с давних времен врывается в мое сердце, рождая самые разные чувства.
"Köld" - это тематическое продолжение "Masterpiece of Bitterness". Печальное, но одновременно драйвовое и тут же затихающее слово в мире музыки (но отнюдь не забытое). Протест и внимательный взгляд в нашу эпоху. Мысли, несущие определение жизни. Так я могу представить вам этот альбом.
А теперь о некоторых особенностях. Вокал Addi имеет всевозможные оттенки, причем они выражаются с такой эмоциональностью и напором, что лично у меня это вызывает восхищение. По нескольку раз в песне следовать мелодии, каждый раз с каким-то новым тоном. То интригующие завывания в "Köld", то спокойный чистый голос в "Necrologue", то крик души в "She Destroys Again". Характерная хрипотца Addi добавляет особый шарм и все его вокальные возможности демонстрируются сполна от второго (первый интрументал) до восьмого трека. Чертовски самобытный вокал.
Партии всех инструментов записаны годно. Об этом не буду расписывать. Музыкальную составляющую можно обозначить как Post-Metal с элементами прога. Блэковой тенденции не ощущается, что присутствовала на ранних работах. Но стиль Sólstafir все равно узнаваем, так или иначе. Мелодизм, эмоциональность вокала, интересные риффы и все та же практически отсутствующая бочка у ударных. Поток звучания альбома - одно целое.
В общем, я настоятельно советую послушать этот потрясающий релиз. Отличный материл от отличной группы.

From the land of glaciers and geysers, I have always listened to Sólstafir first. This is understandable - from any small state, talents are immediately allocated. It's hard to ignore the band, which is a justifiable pride of the metal scene there. I am a fan of this group and all their releases deserve great compliments. But for now I decided to review the third studio album of the Icelanders."Köld" is cold. The name of this creation carries an ambiguous meaning. Sólstafir has always managed to combine the spirit of Scandinavian beauty and philosophy in its music, which reflects human reflections on love, death and loneliness. Music like an echo has burst into my heart for a long time, giving rise to a variety of feelings.
"Köld" is the thematic sequel to "Masterpiece of Bitterness". A sad, but at the same time driving and immediately fading word in the world of music (but by no means forgotten). Protest and careful look in our era. Thoughts that define life. So I can introduce this album to you.
And now about some of the features. Addi's vocals have all sorts of shades, and they are expressed with such emotion and pressure that I personally admire it. Follow the melody several times in the song, each time with a different tone. Now intriguing howls in "Köld", then a calm clear voice in "Necrologue", then a cry from the heart in "She Destroys Again". Addi's characteristic hoarseness adds a special charm and all his vocal possibilities are fully demonstrated from the second (first instrumental) to the eighth track. Damn original vocals.
All instrument parts are recorded correctly. I will not paint about this. The musical component can be described as Post-Metal with program elements. The black tendency is not felt that was present in the early works. But Sólstafir's style is still recognizable, one way or another. Melody, emotionality of vocals, interesting riffs and all the same practically absent kick drum in drums. The flow of the album sound is one whole.
All in all, I highly recommend listening to this amazing release. Great stuff from a great group.
