Colors of the Wind* (оригинал Vanessa Williams)
Fab Flute)

You think I'm just an ignorant savage
And you've been so many places; I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see, if the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don't know?
You don't know...

You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name

You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun - sweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other,
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or let the eagle tell you where he's been?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know

And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper - skinned
We just sing with all the voices of the mountain
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all colors of the wind

* – OST Pocahontas (саундтрек к мультфильму студии Уолта Диснея "Покахонтас", 1995).

1 - Blue moon - a term used in astronomy to determine the second full moon within one calendar month. This is a fairly rare event, observed on average every 2.7154 years. The full moon itself has a regular, ash gray color; the appearance of a blue hue near the moon is an extremely rare occurrence due to the optical effect. Corn moon - “corn” moon, the name of the full moon in September, borrowed by Europeans from the American Indians; during this period, the collection of new crop corn began.
Winner of the Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe awards in the nomination "Best Soundtrack".
Colors of the Wind * (original Vanessa Williams)
Paints of the wind (translated by Fab Flute)

You think I'm just an ignorant savage
You think I'm just an ignorant savage
And you've been so many places; I guess it must be so
And you visited so many places; probably so
But still I cannot see, if the savage one is me
But still, I don’t understand if I’m wild,
How can there be so much that you don't know?
Why don’t you know so much?
You don't know ...
You do not know...

You think you own whatever land you land on
You think that you own any land to which you moor,
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
That a planet is a thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
But I know: every stone and tree, every creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
There is a life, a soul, a name.

You think the only people who are people
You think real people are
Are the people who look and think like you
These are people who look and think like you,
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
But if you follow in the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew
You will discover that which you never knew, you never knew.

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Have you ever heard a wolf howl at the blue moon in September, 1
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
I asked the lynx, why does it bite its teeth?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Well, go down the paths hidden in the coniferous forest,
Come taste the sun - sweet berries of the Earth
Come on, try the sun's rays - the sweet berries of the Earth,
Come roll in all the riches all around you
Go swim in all the riches that surround you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth
And this time do not count how much they cost.

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
Downpour and river flow are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
Heron and otter are my friends.
And we are all connected to each other,
We are all connected to each other.
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
In one ring, in a vicious circle.

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Have you ever heard the wolf howl at the blue moon in September,
Or let the eagle tell you where he's been?
Did the eagle tell you where he was?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

How high does the sycamore grow?
How high does a plane tree grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
If you cut it down, you will never know.

And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
And you will never hear the wolf howl at the blue moon in September,
For whether we are white or copper - skinned
It doesn't matter if we have white skin or copper red,
We just sing with all the voices of the mountain
In the song we merge with the voices of the mountains
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind.
You can own the earth and still
You can own the planet Earth, and yet
All you'll own is Earth until
All that you will possess is just the earth, while
You can paint with all colors of the wind
You cannot paint with all the colors of the wind.
