Маха Мритьюнджайя – Побеждающая смерть – одна из самых древних и мощнейших мантр Ведической эпохи, дошедших до нас через тысячелетия…Мантра приводится в 7 Мандале Риг-веды. Это жизнедающая и исцеляющая мантра. Она может защитить от неизлечимых заболеваний, от змеиных укусов, молнии, несчастных случаев в дороге, огне, воде, воздухе и всяческих других видов несчастий. Эта мантра помогает при неизлечимых заболеваниях, если ее поют с искренностью и верой. Она дарует долгую жизнь, мир, богатство, благосостояние, удовлетворение и бессмертие.
В индийских легендах и мифах Мритьюнджайя связана с именем Маркандейи — его учение заложено в Маркандейя Пуране.

Tryambakam относится к трем глазам Господа Шивы. Трийа значит три, Амбакам значит глаза. Почитаем Трехокого, Благоухающего, приносящего Благо. Подобно созревшему плоду урваруки да избавит он меня от смерти ради бессмертия!

Mantra translation:
Tryambakam refers to the three eyes of Lord Shiva. Triya means three, barn means eye. These are three eyes or sources of enlightenment - trimurti or three primary deities, namely: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and Three Amber (also meaning mother or Shakti) - Saraswati, Lakshmi and Gowry. Thus, by this word, we refer to God as ovifying (Brahma), omnipresent (Vishnu) and Almighty (Shiva). This is the wisdom of Brikhaspati and the indication of Sri Dattatrey, having three heads, brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Yajamahe means "we sing you praise."
Sugandhim refers to its aroma (knowledge, presence and strength, i.e. three aspects) as the best and always spreading around. The fragrance is related to the enjoyment that we receive from knowledge, visions or feelings of his virtuous acts.
