Если ‘Let’s Go To Bed’ и ‘The Walk’ были чем-то нетипичным [для группы], то ‘Lovecats’ явился проникновением на абсолютно новую территорию, он искрился юмором и бесстыдным своеобразием поп-музыки, нанизанным на джазовую ритм-секцию, состоящую из звукоинженера Фила Торнелли (бас) и барабанщика Энди Андерсона.
Та же наркотическая сессия породила еще несколько запоминающихся мелодий, позже включенных в этот боксет. «Я напел Филу каким образом в ‘Speak My Language’ должен звучать бас, а Энди просто добавил ударные», вспоминает Роберт.
«Фортепьянные партии и слова я сочинил на ходу – что очень в духе джаза! Полагаю, я начал осознавать, что отношения с моими старыми друзьями неизбежно меняются, вот в чем было дело… Первые строки я написал заранее, но все остальное – это взрыв, импровизация, возможно именно тогда я плотнее всего приблизился к “потоку сознания”».

If 'Let's Go To Bed' and 'The Walk' were something atypical [for the group], then 'Lovecats' was a penetration into a completely new territory, it sparkled with humor and shameless originality of pop music strung on a jazz rhythm section, consisting of sound engineer Phil Thornelli (bass) and drummer Andy Anderson.
The same drug session gave rise to several more catchy tunes, later included in this boxing. “I told Phil how bass should sound in‘ Speak My Language ’, and Andy just added drums,” Robert recalls.
“I composed piano parts and words on the go - which is very in the spirit of jazz! I suppose I began to realize that relations with my old friends are inevitably changing, that’s what it was ... I wrote the first lines in advance, but everything else is an explosion, improvisation, maybe that's when I came closest to the “stream of consciousness”. ”
