И лишь Император в бессмертьи
В пространство глядит в тишине.
На службу отдав четверть века,
Военный в отставку ушел.
Планету, укрытую снегом
Себе для покоя нашел.
Сидел на ступеньках у храма,

Влюбился как юный мальчишка
Гвардейский седой ветеран.
Её называл он малышкой,
Она его - Мой Капитан.
Казалась бы, оба любили
Друг друга и с чистой душой
Святого их Бога молили
Дарить им при жизни покой.
Но... пришло время черной годины,
И мир этот стал угасать.
Чиновник - вот эта причина,
Ему ли об этом не знать.
Там цены до неба взлетели,
Еду невозможно купить,
Нажиться на бедах хотели,
И злой капитал сколотить,
Бездушные черви-торговцы,
Весь мир разделя меж собой.
И граждане шли словно овцы,
Себя тем отдав на убой.
Любовь их разбилась о берег
Проклятых проблем бытовых.
Больших заработать им денег
Не смог он, бедняга, увы...
Она очень долго терпела,
Но утром однажды ушла.
Душа её лавой кипела,
И где-то другого нашла,
Он был там штабным офицером,
Холеный, всегда при деньгах.
Нашел себе с прибылью дело.
Её он носил на руках.
А сердце гвардейца разбито
В осколки и ввергнуто в прах.
Сердечных не выдержал пыток,
Лишь имя её на губах...
В Галактике же между делом,
Дела стали очень плохи.
Пол-сектора где-то горело,
И там же творились грехи.

И в год для Империи новый

Он бился как в старые годы,
Врагов никогда не щадя.
И вспомнил былые походы
Вперед из окопа глядя.
Но всё же в минуты вне боя,
Он думал лишь только о ней.
Не мог примириться с собою,
И боли не смог быть сильней.
Но всё-таки был он достойным
Солдатом. Её он - любил.
И голос рассудка спокойный
Её за уход не винил.
Она молода, он стареет,
И как уж сложилось - пускай.
"И прежде чем всё заржавеет,
Хоть раз обо мне вспоминай"...
Однажды под вечер в разведку
С командой солдат он пошел.
Рукой отодвинув вниз ветку,
Он розу ночную нашел.
И роза была так красива,
С шипами как ночь холодна,
И листья свернула стыдливо,
Красивей была лишь Она.
Сорвал он её и под китель
Надежно спрятал от всех.
Вернуться спешил он в обитель,
Сорваться не смея на бег.
Он розу отправил посылкой,
Письмо для Неё написав.
Всего пару слов, но как пылко...
Ей счастья на век пожелав.
И роза ушла с кораблями,
Чтоб в руки любимой попасть.
Он снова сражался с врагами.
Но вот окружили их часть...
В жестокой и злой рукопашной
Кромсали чужие тела,
В атаку ходил он бесстрашно,
И с праведным гневом в глазах
Не ведал сей воин пощады,
Её для себя не просил.
Стояли насмерть отряды,
И он вместе с ними там был.
Но враг был тогда слишком сильным,
И дрогнул гвардейский заслон,
