Слава – велика, богатство – огромно, как гора Меру,
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,

Жена, состояние, сыновья, потомки,
Дом, родственники – у тебя все это есть.
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,

Можно выучить наизусть все Веды со всеми Ведангами
Можно изучить все науки и быть блистательным поэтом
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,
То к чему, к чему, к чему все это?
В чужеземье за мной следует слава, на родине – удача,
И нет никого благочестивей меня.
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,

Можно быть почитаемым всеми правителями мира,
Поклоняющимися твоим лотосным стопам
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,

Всему свету известны мои щедрость и сила,
Все на свете я могу получить в награду за это.

Сознание – ни в удовольствиях, ни в йоге, ни в табунах скакунов
Ни в лице возлюбленной, ни в богатстве…
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,

Ни в лесу, ни в доме, ни в делах и обязанностях
Ни даже в теле не остается мой ум.
Но если ум не обращен к лотосным стопам Гуру,
То к чему, к чему, к чему все это?
Тот, кто, преисполнившись благочестия, читает этот гимн,
Будь он царь, стяжатель Высшего (брахмачари) или домохазяин (грухастха),
Непременно достигает того, что известно как Абсоют (Брахман),
Если он утвердился умом в речах Гуру.

Hymn of the Eighties to GuruThe body is beautiful and beautiful wife,
Glory is great, wealth is enormous, like Mount Meru,
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
Wife, fortune, sons, descendants,
Home, relatives - you have all this.
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
You can memorize all the Vedas with all the Vedangas
You can study all sciences and be a brilliant poet
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
In a foreign land, glory follows me, in my homeland - luck,
And there is no one more godly than me.
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
You can be revered by all the rulers of the world,
Worshiping your lotus feet
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
The whole world knows my generosity and strength,
Everything in the world I can get as a reward for this.
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
Consciousness - neither in pleasures, nor in yoga, nor in the herds of horses
Neither in the face of the beloved, nor in wealth ...
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
Neither in the forest, nor in the house, nor in deeds and duties
Not even my body remains in my mind.
But if the mind is not facing the lotus feet of the Guru,
Then why, why, why all this?
One who, full of piety, reads this hymn,
Whether he is a king, covetous of the Supreme (brahmachari) or householder (gruhastha),
It certainly achieves what is known as Absoyut (Brahman),
If he has established his mind in the speeches of the Guru.
