ГЛАВА 15.
1[Гнев губит и разумных.] Кроткий ответ отвращает гнев, а оскорбительное слово возбуждает ярость.
2Язык мудрых сообщает добрые знания, а уста глупых изрыгают глупость.
3На всяком месте очи Господни: они видят злых и добрых.
4Кроткий язык - древо жизни, но необузданный - сокрушение духа.
5Глупый пренебрегает наставлением отца своего; а кто внимает обличениям, тот благоразумен. [В обилии правды великая сила, а нечестивые искоренятся из земли.]
6В доме праведника - обилие сокровищ, а в прибытке нечестивого - расстройство.
7Уста мудрых распространяют знание, а сердце глупых не так.
8Жертва нечестивых - мерзость пред Господом, а молитва праведных благоугодна Ему.
9Мерзость пред Господом - путь нечестивого, а идущего путем правды Он любит.
10Злое наказание - уклоняющемуся от пути, и ненавидящий обличение погибнет.
11Преисподняя и Аваддон открыты пред Господом, тем более сердца сынов человеческих.
12Не любит распутный обличающих его, и к мудрым не пойдет.
13Веселое сердце делает лице веселым, а при сердечной скорби дух унывает.
14Сердце разумного ищет знания, уста же глупых питаются глупостью.
15Все дни несчастного печальны; а у кого сердце весело, у того всегда пир.
16Лучше немногое при страхе Господнем, нежели большое сокровище, и при нем тревога.
17Лучше блюдо зелени, и при нем любовь, нежели откормленный бык, и при нем ненависть.
18Вспыльчивый человек возбуждает раздор, а терпеливый утишает распрю.
19Путь ленивого - как терновый плетень, а путь праведных - гладкий.
20Мудрый сын радует отца, а глупый человек пренебрегает мать свою.
21Глупость - радость для малоумного, а человек разумный идет прямою дорогою.
22Без совета предприятия расстроятся, а при множестве советников они состоятся.
23Радость человеку в ответе уст его, и как хорошо слово вовремя!
24Путь жизни мудрого вверх, чтобы уклониться от преисподней внизу.
25Дом надменных разорит Господь, а межу вдовы укрепит.
26Мерзость пред Господом - помышления злых, слова же непорочных угодны Ему.
27Корыстолюбивый расстроит дом свой, а ненавидящий подарки будет жить.
28Сердце праведного обдумывает ответ, а уста нечестивых изрыгают зло. [Приятны пред Господом пути праведных; чрез них и враги делаются друзьями.]
29Далек Господь от нечестивых, а молитву праведников слышит.
30Светлый взгляд радует сердце, добрая весть утучняет кости.
31Ухо, внимательное к учению жизни, пребывает между мудрыми.
32Отвергающий наставление не радеет о своей душе; а кто внимает обличению, тот приобретает разум.
33Страх Господень научает мудрости, и славе предшествует смирение.

CHAPTER 15.
1 [Anger destroys the prudent.] A meek answer turns away anger, but an insulting word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise communicates good knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spews out folly.
3The eyes of the Lord are in every place; they see the evil and the good.
4 A meek tongue is the tree of life, but an unbridled tongue is a broken spirit.
5 A foolish one despises the instruction of his father; but he who hears reproof is prudent. [There is great power in the abundance of righteousness, but the wicked will be uprooted from the earth.]
6 In the house of the righteous is an abundance of treasures, but in the gain of the wicked is disorder.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the heart of the foolish is not.
8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the righteous is His delight.
9 An abomination to the Lord is the way of the wicked, but he loves him who walks the way of righteousness.
10 An evil punishment is for those who stray from the path, and he who hates reproof will perish.
11The underworld and Abaddon are open before the Lord, much less the hearts of the sons of men.
12The dissolute does not love those who convict him, and he will not go to the wise.
13 A cheerful heart makes the face happy, but when the heart is in sorrow, the spirit becomes weary.
14 The heart of the intelligent seeks knowledge, but the mouth of the fool feeds on folly.
15All the days of the unfortunate are sad; and he who has a cheerful heart always has a feast.
16 Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than a great treasure with anxiety.
17 Better is a dish of herbs with love with it than a fatted bull with hatred.
18 A hot-tempered person stirs up strife, but a patient one calms strife.
19 The way of the lazy is like a lane of thorns, but the way of the righteous is smooth.
20 A wise son makes his father happy, but a foolish man despises his mother.
21 Foolishness is the joy of the poor, but a reasonable man walks the straight path.
22 Without advice, enterprises will be upset, but with many advisors, they will take place.
23 Joy to a man is in the answer of his lips, and how good is a word in time!
24The path of the life of the wise is upward, to escape the netherworld below.
25 The Lord will destroy the house of the haughty, but he will strengthen the border of the widow.
26 An abomination to the Lord is the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the blameless are pleasing to Him.
27 The selfish one will upset his house, but the one who hates gifts will live.
28 The heart of the righteous ponders the answer, but the mouth of the wicked spew evil. [The ways of the righteous are pleasant to the Lord; through them enemies also become friends.]
29 The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 A bright look gladdens the heart, good news makes bones fat.
31 An ear attentive to the teachings of life dwells among the wise.
32 He who rejects instruction does not care for his soul; but he who hears reproof acquires reason.
33The fear of the Lord teaches wisdom, and humility precedes glory.
