(Деяния святых Апостолов 6:1-7)Последователи Христа умножались по всей земле. Как-то "произошел у Еллинистов ропот на Евреев за то, что вдовицы их пренебрегаемы были в ежедневном раздаянии потребностей". Еллинисты были евреями, жившими в греко-говорящих странах Римской империи. Обращенных же иудеев, говоривших на еврейском языке, было намного больше. Среди Еллинистов начался ропот, что их вдовы находятся в неравном положении по сравнению с иудейскими вдовами при ежедневном распределении материальной помощи. Любое разделение подобного рода огорчает Бога. Поэтому необходимо было принять срочные меры, чтобы восстановить мир и согласие среди верующих.
Дух Святой предложил путь, благодаря которому апостолы могли освободиться от обязанности распределять среди нуждающихся материальную помощь и от других подобных обременительных дел, с тем чтобы они могли все свое время посвящать проповеди Евангелия Иисуса Христа. "Тогда двенадцать Апостолов, созвавши множество учеников, сказали: нехорошо нам, оставивши слово Божие, пещись о столах; итак, братия, выберите из среды себя семь человек изведанных, исполненных Святого Духа и мудрости: их поставим на эту службу; а мы постоянно пребудем в молитве и служении слова".
Следуя этому решению, Церковь избрала семь мужей, исполненных веры и мудрости и Духа Божьего, чтобы они занимались данными вопросами. Первым избрали Стефана. По происхождению и религиозному воспитанию он был иудей, но умел говорить по-гречески и был знаком с обычаями и нравами греков. Те, кто избран Богом для руководства в совершении Его работы, направляя и координируя всю духовную жизнь Церкви в целом, насколько это возможно, должны быть освобождены от попечения и забот о преходящем. Тем, кого Господь призвал совершать служение словом, необходимо выделить время для размышления, молитвы и изучения Священного Писания. Их ясное духовное видение будет ослаблено, если они будут вникать в мельчайшие детали тех или иных дел и разрешать все споры и конфликты между членами Церкви. Необходимо, чтобы все несущественные и текущие вопросы решались специально назначенными служителями. Но если вопрос настолько сложен, что ставит в тупик служителя, который его разбирает, то необходимо советоваться с тем, кто руководит всею Церковью.

Somehow "the Hellenists had a grumbling against the Jews for the fact that their widows were neglected in the daily distribution of needs". The Hellenists were Jews who lived in the Greek-speaking countries of the Roman Empire. Converted Jews who spoke the Hebrew language, there was much more. Among the Hellenists, there was a murmur that their widows were in an unequal position compared to the Jewish widows in the daily distribution of material assistance. Any division of this kind grieves God. Therefore, it was necessary to take urgent measures to restore peace and harmony among believers.
The Holy Spirit offered a way through which the apostles could be freed from the obligation to distribute material assistance to the needy from other similar burdensome businesses so that they could devote all their time to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. "Then the twelve Apostles, having called together a multitude of disciples, said: It is not good for us, having left the word of God, to be on the tables; Now, brethren, choose from among you seven men known, filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom: we will put them to this service; and we will always remain in the prayer and ministry of the word & quot ;.
Following this decision, the Church chose seven husbands, full of faith and wisdom and the Spirit of God, to deal with these issues. The first to choose was Stefan. By origin and religious education, he was a Jew, but he was able to speak Greek and was familiar with the customs and mores of the Greeks. At the same time, they were reasonable people, calm and sensible, able to solve the most difficult issues, such as disputes, jealousy and murmur.
The election of seven brothers for current affairs in the Church freed the apostles for a special service - the preaching of the gospel and brought abundant blessings of God to the Church. This had a beneficial effect on the numerical and spiritual growth of the Church. And the word of God grew, and the number of disciples greatly increased in Jerusalem; and very many of the priests obeyed the faith. "
How important it is that in our time in the Church the same order and system as in the days of the apostles was maintained. Success to a great extent depends on how the able, prepared for this cause brothers guide the different departments of the Church. Those who are chosen by God to guide His work, directing and coordinating the entire spiritual life of the Church as a whole, as far as possible, should be freed from care and concern for the transient. Those whom the Lord has called to serve with the word, it is necessary to give time for reflection, prayer and study of the Holy Scripture. Their clear spiritual vision will be weakened if they delve into the smallest details of certain cases and resolve all disputes and conflicts between members of the Church. It is necessary that all nonessential and current issues be decided by specially appointed ministers. But if the question is so complex that it confuses the minister who dismantles it, then one must consult the one who leads the whole Church.
